Oh, I am sooooo excited. Any more beta on time etc. (from the lot)? People wanting to carpool from Bellevue/Seattle? I have never been up there, so thanks for the top going with last year's info on where (not) to sit.

I'm new to this place, via Glen B. My ski mentor. Does anyone want to carpool from near Ballard or there abouts? My first time, I need the cool air. 8)

Does anyone know approximately how many miles it is from the parking lot to the Glacier? My dad is flying in tomorrow morning and I want to bring him with, but he does not get around as well as he used to.

Via the NPS requested route it is 1.9 miles (~1100 vf) from Reflection Lake to the end of the maintained trail at Pinnacle-Plummer saddle. Then a climber/social trail makes an ascending traverse east across scree for a few hundred yards, gaining ~300 vf to Pinnacle-Castle col, where a bit of easy rock leads to the top of the 'glacier'.   It is several hundred feet of steep snow down to the tarn, with fairly safe runout.  I'd recommend trekking poles for the scree & descending the big rock steps on the trail.
