I think this is one of the coolest things about these activities. Of course, there was some organization involved and thanks to the people who did that work. Sorry I couldn't be there. I seem to have more family obligations these days and a corresponding smaller amount of time for skiing. Good idea of grabbing that web cam shot, jdclimber! I also looked at that cam at about the same time, and saw people skinning up, but it didn't occur to me until later that I should have saved the shot. Chris says that donations for the "keg, then TAY" exceeded what was needed to cover keg by $314, so thank you to everyone who contributed so generously! Chris also said that a number of donations came with requests for "no ads" on the site. I'm still learning about advertising possibilities, and I think that there may need to be some kind of advertising, but my goal is to make it as unobtrusive as possible. The new "Shop for Gear: your purchases support TAY" board accomplishes that, but how much this arrangement could bring in is still unknown, and I'm not clear how local shops could be represented on that board.Jeanette and I were marveling on the way home at how well this function seems to go with no one running the show and just about no organization.

I am so sorry I didn't make it Sunday. I went to White Pass for the closing weekend.
Since White Pass was closed for the week I was happy to discover lots of fresh, untracked snow. Though the snow in the sun had a nasty death defying breakable crust, the shade had great and deep snow making for a few hours of really enjoyable skiing. Very sticky in the afternoon. Lift tickets were discounted.
Left Sunday morning.
I did put my TAY donation check in the mail today.
Only one month and eleven days until retirement and full time dirtbaggin' ski bummage...
