April 27, 2008 (Sunday) Ski Fest

Sorry I missed it y'all -- sounds like a great time.

Great day, perfect weather, lots of fun, and a few photos .

Thanks to Kelvin for firing up the grill. Those strange chicken and apple sausages that my wife bought were better warmed up! It was a fun afternoon and great to see everyone.

Ok so myself and the family headed that direction (late start though). We only made it to the bottom of Forest queen as my 7yo was about done at that point. Can't really blame her though it was only the 2nd time on skins and she is having to travel with BCA Trackers which are pretty heavy.

My thanks to everyone who participated.  The weather was just right for relaxing and watching wet slides creep down the East face of Cambell Basin.  Scotsman, Paul, Jaakko and I continued our European exchange tour for a couple of early turns off of Threeway and the King that morning before commencement of festivities  (sort of, one of our party was weary of carrying his beer around the BC so he cracked the first cold Rainier tall boy at 8:30 atop Threeway)  We made it back up to Cambell Lodge just as people were arriving and the sun began shinning in earnest.  I was happy to put some faces to names and see some friends.  What a nice bunch of people we are!  Especially the hansom couple who brought the cheesecake.  Good call.  One slush lap in Cambell Basin and it was time to ski down to the lot and collect Chugash.  Fortunately, he was waiting by the truck having followed other skiers down.  A happy ending to a great day.

Anyone else having trouble accessing this album?  It prompted me for a Google login (which no Picasaweb album ever has before).. then after I log in, it makes me approve some license agreement, then it says this:

  500 INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR
Unable to process request.

Tried it a couple days ago and then again today; same results.
