Yes sir. Heavy Cascade Concrete vs. Utah or Colorado's Greatest Snow on Earth? Or lightest snow should I say.
Kyle makes a very valid point.
Plus all that snow fell on a icy, hard crust.
Do the math, and you get one big slide, onto I-90, onto semi trucks.
Can't blame WSDOT for closing it.

OK there is a HUGE difference between the snow in Washington and the Snow in Colorado. Washington has wet heavy snow and colorado has dry light snow so to compare there average annual snowfall and base the comparision on that is out right ridiculous

Inches of snow, water content, avalanche paths, manpower, linear mileage, liability.......so many variables affect why the pass is not open. I couldn't begin to guess exactly why, but I do think Tim Eyman should be out there in his ear muffs and mukluks shoveling like crazy.
Plinko, you'll get no sympathy from those uf us sleeping soundly in our comfortable beds. Ski fool, SKI!! I can't imagine passing up turns tomorrow because I didn't have a clean pair of socks ???!
Does anyone know how long it would take me to skin from North Bend to Hyak on the Ironhorse trail?

What would you plan to do when you hit Rockdale? Go over, around or through the mtn? From NB it would be roughly 23 miles I'd guess....how long depends on how fast you go.
