Mount Rainier Access was created by JMor
In today's New's Tribune (12-7-2006) there is an article about the access to Mt. Rainier.  "There will be no access to Paradise and its popular snowplay area and Nordic skiing this winter".  It also states that the park won't open for vehicle access any sooner than March  :'(.

You can view the whole article listed below.

Looking at the photos, I am not shocked to hear that. However, I suspect with a mtn bike, skinning, and lots of determination, you could probably have the Muir all to yourself for weeks at a stretch....

That's a bummer. How have all of you Paradise regulars been getting your turns in so far this season? Haven't seen many reports from the usual suspects.

Yeah, I was wondering what the "Muir All Year" crowd has been up to as well.

Jeanette,
Not so happy trails this time! I read that article this mornigng.
This might be a blessing in disguise for us Rainier Rats. Saturday I toured up near Mt Catherine ,Sunday I skied at Hurricane ridge(Lifts at Hurrricane don't open till the 16th) . and now I'm looking real hard at Martin Volken's book.
Saturday going to Hogsback. My plan is take in a lot of tours that will be new to me.
Also a trip to Salt lake is in the works.
Here's hoping we get to lay down some powder tracks together soon.
