Me too.  I've lurked long enough.  Actually during the 1st one I was in the vicinity and wondered why so many people were coming down the hill from the same area that afternoon. ???

It has been a while since we have successfully been able to pull off the Crystal Ski Fest. It's looking like the last weekend of April would be best. As Greg pointed out, there are several of us that instruct with the Mountaineers Glacier Travel Class and will be tied up, no pun intended , the weekend of April 22 - 23. Our gang was just talking about the Crystal ski Fest this past weekend and had decided that Sunday April 30th would probably work best for most. There are several variables that will come into play for the 3rd Crystal Ski Fest. If Crystal does indeed close on the scheduled date, everything will work. If they decide to remain open for weekends only like last year, then the whole thing gets cancelled once again. If our Glacier Travel, Crevasse Rescue class goes as planned most all of us will be able to participate in the Ski Fest on Sunday April 30th. If we have to postpone the GT class due to weather, then the class has been re-scheduled for the next weekend which is April 29-30th. The following weekend May 7th-9th 20+ are heading to Mt Hood for our 9th annual Silcox Hut, Hood climb/ski . I guess to make a long winded story short, it looks like Sunday April 30th is the best choice for most of us .

If Crystal goes squirrely with their schedule, is there any reason we coudn't switch to Stevens or elsewhere? If that weekend works best for everyone, maybe we could be flexible with the location? Although "Crystal Fest" does have a nice ring to it....
