Having taken that photo, let me reassure you that the landing was out of sight below the cornice in the foreground and I definitely considered it a 'big huck'. Maybe not by Jamie Pierre standards, but we didn't have to excavate him. A stylish butt check was all that followed for the ACLess wonder...

Jason was forging a more direct variation on 'Crooked Couloir', as part of our relentless Volken-stalking one-upsmanship. What can a guy expect when Andy Dappen writes articles comparing him to Fred Beckey? ;)

Sorry for the off-topic rant, but I didn't get photo credit. Ha ha ha
P.S. (that wasn't much of a huck, btw :) )

Great, all we need is Jason thinking he isn't hucking big enough already... lol

Jason,
When you are choosing a surgeon you should try to talk to a couple of them about the procedure and their method of rehab. My wife had her ACL repaired by Dr. Michael Morris at Virginia Mason Sports Medicine and never wore a brace. She was on crutches for a week and then one crutch for another week. We have a friend who's husband is Dr. Larson's nephew. When he did her ACL she was in a brace for six weeks. I am not saying that one method is better than the other, but it is worth investigating since you have time to evaluate your options before summer. They might also have different suggestions about patella tendon vs. cadaver vs. hamstring tendon. They each have their pros and cons. Dr. Morris suggested hamstring for my wife because she is not a hard on it as some people and about half of the patella tendon patients report pain when kneeling after the surgery. She was running as part of her therapy in about six weeks and hiking again in about three months. My wife tore it about a year before she had the surgery and in that time completely destroyed her meniscus. She has only 20% left. Had she gotten a correct diagnosis at the time of the injury she could have had the surgery earlier and prevented the damage.
