CW - I'm still wondering if you were right about the troll, but I'm leaning toward your new interpretation, and certainly agree with your plea for a world where folks are a bit more tolerant of varied viewpoints.

That said, Snoqualmie never has good snow. Drive far for snow. Don't bother going up there - buy the bumper sticker and head to Paradise!

Well, here we go again...IP numbers have been recorded, posts have been deleted, emails will be sent.

From the Trip Reports Terms of Use to which all members (as well as all unregistered viewers) have agreed as a condition of use: "The authority for determining objectionable content rests solely with Turns-All-Year Trip Reports administrators. We have the rights to remove objectionable content if we determine that removal is necessary."

It was determined that a number of previous posts in this thread were in violation of the Terms of Use, and those posts have been removed. If any member continues to make posts with objectionable content, that member may be banned from this forum (see Terms of Use).

Jim Oker and cw have got it right: what is expected from the members of this forum is not total agreement with one another, groupthink, or anything similar. Rather, what is expected is that members will respect the right of others to hold and express differing opinions, and that member's posts will acknowledge this right by the respectful manner in which they are written.

It is suggested that if a member finds that their posted opinion is in the minority, they have a couple of acceptable options. One, do not make any more posts and, if necessary, do not continue viewing the relevant thread; a member can also delete their own previous post(s) if so desired. Or two, engage in a respectful and constructive exchange of ideas with the hope that all parties involved may gain a better understanding of the varied opinions.

It is never acceptable to, "post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law," (from the Terms of Use).

If everyone keeps these ideas in mind, then we should continue to have a useful forum which sets a high standard to which most other forums can only aspire. In addition, any time that I have to spend dealing with problem posts is time that I do not have to spend instead making improvements to this web site, such as upgrading this forum to a more modern version.

Charles

Good forum. If someone disagrees with the majority, erase their remarks. Nice.

My dear Bandit

I confess my comment for the fremont bridge was a bit off the cuff as I find your opinions to be somewhat curious and troll like ie. dragging bait thru the water looking for a bite, however having enjoyed reading your many posts I suspect that this is your real opinion and that I do respect.

All that being said my humble opinion is that there are more than plenty places on gods green earth for the masses to get to without breaking a sweat... something like less than 2% of the lower fortyeight is consider roadless area. I am entirely ready to stand up and resist encrouchment of even nearby and seemingly minor areas like Alpental if it is to resist the impending steamroller of industrial toursim that alllows people to have the "right" to drive, motor and otherwise careen thru the world with disregard of the rights of others, others to include the little green frog

Of course in todays world of, poverty, hunger, war, rising sea levels, and snow levels decreasing healthy habitat for many creatures....including me!! this may seem like a obscure and meaningless discussion for you. However in my view your comments indicate a honest disregard for the many values which I and I presume many others find important. My opinion is that this reflects much of the horror that humankind has wrecked upon this amazing green globe that I call home.

YMMV
cordially
CW

Mr. CW,

Here is a good website to check out. It may relieve some of your fears of being "trampled" on. Less than 2% in the lower 48 is roadless? Where did you dig that up?

apps.ecy.wa.gov/shorephotos/index.html
