I find it more irritating to come across someone that has peed in the skin track or even a dog turd.

Aaron

Aaron, on wednesday it was a gruesome sight. Imagine postholed skin tracks, dozens of pee marks in the track, and a nice handful of dog doo here and there! **Joke coming** I just smiled and said "it's all good!"

Yeah it's a bit annoying,

But usually post-holers don't get that far from the parking lot. Snowshoers can go farther, but skinning a snowshoe track is less work than breaking a new track.

and finally I'll take any of that over snowmachine tracks!!! Which I'm sad to say have pretty much overrun a number of my old favorite ski tours.

Can't muscle powered snow lovers just get along?

. Now us "geezer" types can only hope for the snow-shoers to set in a nice wide track, hopefully close to our destination.

Won't have to worry to much about post-holers over the next few days. With the copious amounts of snow, a few feet out on the skin track and they'll sink outta sight.....usually post-holers don't get that far from the parking lot.

i think sky and some others in this post are being to easy on the so call monkeys. you've gotta put them in their place. DON'T WALK IN THE SKIN TRACK!!! that is what i usually yell when i see a so called monkey postholing from afar. if i see them up close i will explain to them why they should keep their monkey paws off the track.

lets think of a different scenario...

bike = snowboarder
car = skier

bikes could be seen as an inferior form of transportation to cars (lets not argue about this). the bike i ride doesn't make potholes in the street. if it did i wouldn't ride it on the street. since my bike is slower i ride on the shoulder and stay out of the way of the more powerful and sexy cars.

while we are on this topic, for those of you who set a skin track, please make the skin track wide...keep your legs far apart. i hate following a skinny skin track...too much rubbing on my muscular thighs leads to painful skin irritations.

With more split boarders heading into the bc, they'll learn quickly the benefit of a clean skin track, and the annoyance of one that's booted out. Maybe hearing it from their own will help too.
