Did a quick google of Steven Milloy for some background info on him. Anybody getting funding from Phillip Morris and Exxon has my trust.<br><br> www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Steven_Milloy

Didn't Greenland used to be green, meaning that it used to be warmer than it is now?  Well, that could be wrong, but just a thought.

<br><br>Its my understanding that the name Greenland is an early example of real estate marketing by one of the Scandinavian countries (Norway?) aimed at encouraging colonization of the icey gray wasteland into which they'd plunged their flag.<br><br>I've been to a subdivision in Southern California called Chardonnay Lake, and was sorely dissappointed.<br>

It's no suprise that Fox news shares a different belief about global warming than 98% of the scientific community. I'm also not suprised about the link between big oil and George Taylor. I saw him speak at a stormwater conference in Eugene for the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies (ACWA) this past June, and he tried to convince people attending that global warming was a myth and cited climatic data from the artic in the 1930s (as referenced in the Seattle Times article). Other data he presented to contradict global warming included graphical snow data from Crater Lake, OR. Snow levels in the 1940s and 50s were much higher than in the 70s and 80s. Then in the 90s, snow levels increased to near "normal" levels, close to those of the 40s and 50s. This must mean global warming doesn't exist, right? The problem here is that all the data Taylor is looking at is from a 70-year period (post industrial reveloution). I agree with him on one point: there could be more temperature gauges in the ocean to monitor ocean temps, but let's take a look at longer term weather patterns before coming to any conclusions. ;)

How wonderful to hear such open-minded consideration and well-reasoned thoughts from those commenting about an Editorial from culturally diverse, intellectual, and hip Seattle.<br><br>If one is to process the comments without previous knowledge, perhaps a certain conclusion would be attained. One would know that anyone who disagrees with the almighty and completely proven and logical theory of global warming should be silenced or shot immediately. One would learn that global warming has occurred, that it is caused from carbon dioxide produced by (probably Republican oil barons) conspicuously-consuming Americans. One may see that global warming as described is NOT from the huge volumes of CO2 from third-world SE Asia, or from Eurasia, and certainly NOT from good wineglass-environmentalist SUV driving, middle-class elitist university-educated conspicously-consuming liberal Democrats (or from what they smoke- wink, wink). The US foolishly banned two stroke engines from the highway in 1976, but European cities now contain many two stroke engines that are used for personal transportation; since the Euros are so hip, environmentally sound and sophisticated, perhaps we should bring back the two stroke engine (?). And, yes, it will quickly solve the problem to transfer a lot of wealth per the Kyoto protocol from the evil US to other countries, especially when the wealth is transferred to those enlightened countries who despise freedom, western civilization, and the US.<br><br>One would know that any association with an oil company (or Republican thought or action), without other disqualification, negates the validity of any research. Good journalism.<br><br>The warm feelings that I get from learning this unassailable truth as described assure me that so many who are so vocal and concerned will sell their cars and cut down on extraneous driving for such as the selfish pursuit of skiing. <br><br>Thanks for properly educating me with such liberal and sophisticated discourse.

Do you really think equal footing should be given to the claims made by those who have a vested interest in a particular outcome, versus those who do not, and who best understand the science behind it?

Here is another nice Global Warming article to toss on the pile. I always find it interesting that every weather related phenomenon in the world seems to be linked to the mysterious Global Warming trend that George Bush caused.<br><br> www.melaniephillips.com/articles/archives/000255.html

The above link to the article is a good read.
