It is great to have input and information about skis. It is tough to get the right stuff at times. Perhaps others have experienced as I have the purchase of something that is supposed to be the best, and just does not turn out to be very good at all. There are many individual factors involved beyond the characteristics of the equipment.

On a practical note, I would be unsure of Trab performance in PNW snow until I hear something convincing. I have skied Little Cottonwood Cyn about only 25 days total in winter and spring, but never found snow there at its worse that was as challenging as some snow on the WA Cascade crest. It seems that the Trab performance claims are made involving other (other than WA) types of snow.

There was scarcely any information given about Goode. I think that I have correctly extrapolated the available data for the FR 10 to my needs in WA- the FR 10s seem to work.

You're right, I didn't mean to infer the FR 10 is a bad ski. And lurker is correct in that it is good to have choices.

The extra sidecut of the FR 10 can make for a good carving board, and the front skin attachment is a nice addition similar to Trab's Duo skin attachment. It is nice to see all light skis taking significant steps forward in performance.

I did not find Mark's comments condescending or arrogant. In fact, I found his input helpful; he clearly states his biases and offers his own and others' opinions, identified as such. Further, he responded calmly and without apparent offense or defensiveness to the contrary reports of others. IMHO many of us, myself included, could learn from this approach.

Hope all are enjoying this somewhat problematic winter season in good spirits.

Mark

Did you read the unedited version yesterday? To his credit, he dealt with it very diplomatically.
