Some good input, thanks. Hopefully someone with in-depth knowledge of Goode skis in regard to they perform for randonnee skiing will post.

They advertise closeout on models with names like "Extra, Excess, and Exact". Click on the link to their models to get a description, and they have no such models listed. So how would someone know what they were ordering?

Readers of this excellent thread might want to also check out the "Bro" carbon fiber skis.

www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php...55460479a72d990a9934I had to go to the Goode web-site today to purchase parts for my ski poles and found this.

www.goode.com/closeoutss.html

Aaron

Bros aren't carbon. They a traditional wood core, fiberglass lay-up design.

Those closeout Goodes are alpine skis that are a few years old. If you google the model names you can find the dimensions. Not much information on them, though.

I plan to ski on some Trab skis this winter, and if I understood their Italian, some ski mountaineers I ran into in Switzerland last winter thought their Trabs were pretty good.

Conversely, I've never found anyone with anything good to say about Goode skis. There was one patroller at Snowbord who was skiing on free Goodes, and he said the skis were "jumpy."
