My tired but not particularily dirty skin glue needs some updating.  TAY search has helped, but I have a few additional questions. Any thoughts out there?

I'm thinking I'll just freshen up the existing glue with the Ascension Gold Label glue, and like the idea of using BD transfer sheets to smoothly iron it on.  Where to get the transfer sheets?  I contacted BD and they supply the sheets only with their "Glue Renew", the complete reglue product.  They don't know what the composition of the sheets is (some sort of wax paper?), and can't tell me where to get it.  Ideas?

A full reglue is also a possibility.  My BD skins have the black ribbon running down the center of the glue side, I believe their attempt at lessening the excessive stickiness of wide skins. The ribbon extends under the riveted tail clip. I assume you remove this ribbon to do a complete reglue? Just rip it out at the rivets?  Replace it?

BD has a video showing how to reglue skins. I thought it made it look much easier than it turned out to be, but it does show what to do w/ those glueless strips down the middle of you skis: blackdiamondequipment.com/gear/detail/gl...ew_detail.php#videos

If the skin does delam, that isnt a huge deal, since the laminate should reactivate. Just iron over it and press REALLY HARD, let dry and you're good.

Re: skin cutting –
One final step I always do is to lightly heat the cut skin edges with a lighter to singe any loose hairs. The idea is to “reseal” the cut edge of the skin to help keep loose hairs from spreading onto the glue. Just keep the flame approximately ½ inch from the skin edge as you run the lighter along the edge of the skin. And keep the flame away from the skis, obviously.
