Boyne is Michigan...not Canada

Additionally the gondola came from:
Under skin-- Austria
Terminal Skin -- outsourced to group in Canada
Terminal structures, conveyors and drive/carriage platforms--St. Jerome plant (Canada)
Tower heads, walkways and sheave assemblies -- St. Jerome plant (Canada)
Tower tubes -- slc plant
Rebar -- slc
Grips -- Italy agamatic plant
Cabins –  Switzerland

Plus much of the labor came from Greenwater and Enumclaw locals.

I heard the same thing as ddk. The cabin was sitting at the summit (not on the cable), was not secured and sustained damage in the wind.  A mistake, but nothing to do with the actual gondola operations.

so this gondola was put on the cable (at the bottom) and went to the top where it was removed and left there to blow away in the wind??? No way, I will need to verify that CRAZY made up... ...story!

Also: George Gillette who is the big time industrialist banker /junk bond king/timber baron/slaughterhouse king and at the top of the PYRAMID of Boyne Mountain (CNL Real Estate Holdings)...is Canadian.

The SON is the SUN,

The cabin was taken to the summit on a truck in the summer, before the cable was even strung to use for photos. It has been sitting up there for quite a while.

You're mixing up CNL and Booth Creek. George Gillett is the owner of Booth Creek, former owner of the summit. He has nothing to do with CNL and CNL has nothing to do with Crystal. And he's not Canadian either.

George IS a Capitalist, capitalism is not working. Think of all the corporations that have fled this country, taking most jobs and the "american dream" with them and you sit there ACTUALLY defending them!

I am at Alpental, why?

Gillette washes hands of Alpental.

Conservationists win!

Billionaire George Gillette has appeared to have backed away from having any interest in Alpental or developing it. Last year Booth Creek Ski Holdings Inc., (of which Gillette is CEO) sold the ski concession to Florida based CNL Income Properties Inc.; a company commonly referred to as a "Real Estate Investment Trust." After the sale to CNL, Booth Creek continued to lease, and therefore reap the profits for the operation of the area. What has happened now, is Crystal Montain's parent company Boyne USA Resorts, has replaced Booth Creek, as the client of CNL which manages the ski business. Among CNL's other properties are:

Bretton Woods, Brighton, Cyprus Mountain, Loon Mountain, Northstar and Sierra at Tahoe, Sugarloaf, Sunday River, as well as more golf courses that ski areas, several marinas, and amusement parks.
