Choose slots that are in front of each other. Put skis in aiming for ridge between two slots. Skis separate and one goes in the one at the back and one in the front. Tension produced( due to brake intertwinage) keeps skis locked in not banging or hanging and no seperation anxiety.
This techniqe requires you to get to the front of the 8 and have good slot selection opportunities.
Works like a dream.
I am Gondola expert now!( self -appointed but still an expert)

I perfected it yesterday. With fat skis and twin tips, do not separate them but have them ptex to ptex with brakes intertwined.most excellent news. my skis were getting beat to shit banging around in the snowboard slots.

I've always felt it beneficial to have good slot selection opportunities.

Ah ha, another devotee of the Juanito aka Alex the lifte technique with the added bonus of cleaning burs from you edges on insertion. I have taken to alternating tips and tails to keep the tune in balance. On an unrelated note: the Garmin keeps giving me more and more date to play with including rate of climb/ rate of descent and temperature. Does anyone know if it's waterproof enough to measure coffee temp ? I know it measured Campbell lodge temp, I'm not clear on how many degrees darn cold is. Clarification please.

The 800's are rated IPX7 which is 30 min at 1 meter (not moving) . Unless you drink uber vente coffee's I think your safe testing the unit in a standard cup of java. Although I'm not too sure about the heat
