Crystal Zoo 3/30/10 was created by Joedabaker
I missed today due to some work obligations I heard it was about as crowded as a mountain can get. I saw one picture of the line at the bottom of Chinook and it extended out to the store-a-ski and Discovery chair. What's going on? Weekend crowds on a Tuesday?
Good for the mountain making some late season cash.
Let's hear the stories.

I was part of the mass of people waiting for that first chair. Felt like a weekend crowd but goods were to be found.

Yeah, it was a mad-house, but I didn't bother looking in the rearview, not today...  Early arrival at 7am, got third chair up Chinook, and third up REX for second tracks down GV Bowl.  The employed strategic move entailed an immediate B-line north to GV, like vagabond settlers looking to colonize fertile land, leaving the rest of the migration to scavenge for "limited" pow on REX.  Culture shock allowed the few early pups to feast on continuous GV freshies before the inevitable mass-consumption reigned like the spread of war.  Yeah, Crystal Mountain Zoo & Aquarium revisited, but overall it was a great pow-day.

By the way, I vote to ban "ear-buds" and Ipods on the hill.  This after a near miss on Queens late in the day...  Kid was lucky that this Frenchman wasn't doing Chamonix speeds, would have been a different story.

Yes there was a huge crowd in the morning, but fortunately there was a large contingent of skiers and boarders willing to wait in line for chair 6 all day leaving plenty of good snow for the rest of us. Not as good as yesterday, but still a great day.

It was nice of him to stop and make sure you were OK.

Yeah, I turned the wheel and took the impact and he rode off. Dude had BOTH earbuds in, kind of like driving while pearing into a kaleidoscope ;)

1st chair Chinook and Rex. 1st down fronstside back to Rex then Upper and lower E where only tracks were patrols.

Crazy busy.

6 line unbearable.

GV had better snow anyway.

Pisssed they didn't get NW open.

Surprisingly stable.
