Crystal and Big Sky and Boyne Resorts

Still extremely curious about their answer to the Big Sky question.

Soooo...Any good guesses that this just might be handled on an exception basis when the snow flies ? Like: I want to go to Big Sky, where's my passes ??? Or do you just show up for the stare down ???
Where'd Sharon Stone when you need her ?? Maybe we could all rally and overwhelm the locals at snoquaile.

Well, I'm actually pretty disheartened that Crystal did not answer my letter sent October 8. I will notify them this week that if I don't have an answer to my letter by a week from tomorrow (October 30) I will file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

I wrote crystal guest services an e-mail this morning:

Because I love Crystal Mountain so much it pains me to write this e-mail. I'm the guy who at work arranges an annual Crystal Mountain outing with the staff. I encouraged folks to buy a season pass so that they can ski at Brighton and Big Sky.

I am disheartened and disappointed that I have yet to hear how you are going to honor your obligation to provide me (and others) with up to 10 lift tickets to Big Sky.

My first communication to you about this was on August 27. On October 8, I sent a letter along with documentation concerning this issue.

When can I expect an answer? I feel it is reasonable that I hear something definitive by Wednesday, October 30, 2007, one week from today. Do you think that by then you will be able to provide me (and others) with the assurance that I will be able to ski at Big Sky this year with my Crystal pass purchased before May 31?

I received an answer back a few hours later apologizing for taking so long, and promising to contact me by October 30 with clarified and accurate information.

At least you got a response. Was it from CM guest services?

Hard to understand why the condition would really have much benefit for Boyne unless the entire objective is to keep CM pass-holders away from Big Sky completely, which, again, wouldn't seem to hold much benefit for them.

Fingers crossed.

This afternoon I received an e-mail message from Susan at Guest Services at Crystal in which she assured me that "You WILL be able to utilize your 10 free days at Big Sky." She was short on details but I can check in with her when I'm up at Crystal tearing up the pow.

The bad news is that I am back working full time and will not be ski bumming like last winter and I may not make it to Big Sky this season. The good news is that I'm retiring in June and will be ski bumming for as long as the old body holds out...
