Where did you get info about Bachelor's parking policy having restrictions for uphillers?
Fun!
Share the love, excellent!
Whoa! Don't see that every day.Only time I have had trouble with my speed turns is when the pins or receivers on my boots aren't cleared of snow/ice or I don't pull the lever all the wa...
Did moon walk with skis on place?
sorry to miss it, here is a highlight reel I came across, it's worth a view :)http://www.pictaram.net/post/1753103159598822509_1569026127
Hey nice pictures!
Yes would expect Sugarbowl to Squaw to be in. Good day trip with spring conditions, although maybe a bit long with the resort closed and no lift ride up Lincoln Mt, or do it in a few days and spend so...
Love the Sierra posts, Kirkwood is a gem of a spot for skiing. Hope you had a nice soak too. Not sure which way you're headed but Genoa is a neat spot to stroll and grab coffee if you're hea...
Geesh, he was just trying to put your post title into the site format and apparently botched it. When you say "last Sunday" on a Monday, it means the previous Sunday. Get a grip.
author=Good2Go link=topic=37932.msg153842#msg153842 date=1487744285]Ha! Kendall's focused on a fast transition for maximum pow (as always). How's the snow around Bachelor? You've been...
Looks prett sweet! Is Kendall trying to wax his 'stache in the first pic?Cheers,Nate
Great vid, followed it up with the Orcas mountain bike one. Nice afternoon diversion, keep up the fun!
Another point I think Good2Go is missing (and that is probably contributing to his irritation) is that it's not about judging this group's decision making or the outcome on a particular day,...
Great post markharf.
First thing I thought when I saw that pic was that I'm glad I have safer options for skiing. I assumed what they were doing must have been their best option. It don't like loitering below ob...
Calling a slope stable after doing nothing but skiing it and not triggering an avalanche is technically accurate but meaningless in the absence of other information, yet you hear people make the procl...
Curious what the slope angle was where you did your ECT's & whether slab showed signs of sliding in addition to propagation. Either way I wouldn't have messed about either based on the i...
Looks like a very happy holiday!
Picturesque looking terrain in the 2nd pic in your original post, fun that you get to ski it now and then! Sort of looks like it could be someplace in Japan or Australia in that pic. Glad you only got...
The grass I'm imagining would lay down under the weight of the snow and has blades which provide a bed surface and would be extremely slippery with a thin layer of weak snow or facets over them....
What kamtron said. Grassy slope does not provide anchor, often the opposite. Observationally, it also seems pretty common for facets to persist in and around grass.
I think he meant as things get tracked the action gradually shifts skier's right into and below more hazardous terrain.
Good call & PSA!
Wow, just wow!
Another consideration is that the majority of control work is done early morning and it often warms up throughout the day, sometimes dramatically. Also with wind transport on a storm day, patrol has t...
Nice adventure & cooperative spirit!
Entertaining read, thx!
Thanks for sharing your experience, it can happen to anyone. It sounded pretty scary, I'm glad you came out OK.I don't know if it played into what happened at all (it doesn't seem to ha...
You can park right on the side of the road at the trail or in the lot for Devil's Lake, which is off the road and will probably have people camping nearby by that time. It's a short walk to...
