It was full of incredible powder just below the firmer entrance. I didn't find it so bad even with relatively flimsy Wailer 112s and we made it down with a combo of hop turns and side stepping. Of cou...
I saw one on Tinkham peak in August. Not sure if it was an Olympic one or not but it ran away immediately when it saw me.
Left TH shortly after 8am. 4 hours to Colchuck col where we sat and ate for a while, just under 5 hours to summit. I guess we started skiing down from the col around 1:45pm.The late start was planned...
Thanks for the chutes updates. Appearance sure fooled me, we didn't even bother taking a look from the top after looking at it from below and experiencing the wind up there.
That would make sense. Someone else told me that they had earlier seen what looked like a litter hanging from the line, but at that point none of us had a vantage point to see where it had come from....
This may have been one of the helicopter trips I saw, but the article says that accident occurred at 12.3k and I'm nearly certain that I saw them haul someone from the summit area.

I think we must have observed the same jets flying over at Stevens. Nothing crazy like you're talking about though.
Two thumbs up for Aardvark. Can't get enough of the "Fried Snow"!
Long drive but a fun race! Thanks Free Range!

I'll wear my suit too...after I let you sacrifice yourself to gain social acceptance for the rest of us. ;)
Thanks for the update!
Likewise. The short drive is very nice!
Yep! Great photos.
Just gotta show up early and look in the right places...before everyone else does. :)
Good coverage at West, probably 12" of new when I showed up around 7 and it kept falling. Heavy turned to sticky turned to nearly soup at the bottom by late morning. Nice to go skiing without a 3...
Nice chatting with you below the summit. What a great day!
Thanks!
What's the condition of the summit area? Is much rock exposed?
Thanks!
Thanks for explaining. Your answers are about what I expected. After posting my question I managed to find a couple photos of late season conditions including this one: http://photodb.danielarndt.com/2...
