Nice! Went there on a guided trip with Martin Volken the first year they opened.
Keep the reports coming Amar - they are always first rate and educational as well. Thanks!
Wow - impressive!
Fantastic - thanks!
Wow - what a story!
Nice seeing you up there Silas. A superb day - here are a few pictures:
Nice job on scoping out an unusual route!
My wife came on the trip with me but I climbed solo. Unfortunately there were only patches between the bridge and the camp site, so we just hiked the trail to camp. From there it was continuous snow t...
A couple more photos:
Fellow Brit irony, perhaps?
Hard to see with the clouds but Cliff Mass says the snow depth at Paradise is 10-20% above average for the date. I'd say everywhere above 5,000' is looking pretty good.
Brilliant - thanks!
We used trail shoes for about an hour. Lots of bare trail early on the south-facing slope, then long snow covered sections with interruptions of bare trail from 50 to a few hundered feet long. Persona...
Thanks for the photos!
Great video - thanks for posting!
Congratulations! No kidding about the wind today, 12 hours averaging above 100 mph, with a peak gust of 155 mph. 2-12-2011 Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center...
Yep - still good!
Another outstanding (and unusual) report - congratulations!
Fabulous TR and photos - thanks.
Really an outstanding report, not to mention accomplishment. Five of us followed your exact route on Sunday, June 14, which brought grown men to their knees! It was uncanny to read your avalanche asse...
Nice report for a different area - thanks!
Impressive - keep 'em coming!
You never know - great report!
Pete - there are 3 or 4 remnant neve patches spread out along the upper wall. I doubt if any are more than 200 VF long. There are a few minor patches down in the flats, but no vertical there! I guess...
I also wondered what was left after our shock/horror heatwave last week. After bailing on the Sholes idea after turning the corner above Camp Kiser we explored the unnamed lake south of camp on Sunday...
Great report as usual - thanks!
Nice report - love that side of the park.
On the way in we hiked the trail until about 5,000' elevation, which took almost 2 hours. It was about 50% snow covered, with long dirt patches as well. On the way back we skied quite a bit furth...
Nice job for a day trip guys!
That does look a little sketch - nice job!
