One should be careful about 11-year-old memories. I went back to my old trip report and decided I should be careful about overselling the Indian Creek exit. Travelling was great from White Pass to Ref...
One of my favorite trips. However, we exited via Indian Creek which was relatively brush free about 10 years ago. This exit takes you through the White Chuck Glacier basin, over the ridge to White Pas...
The picture looks amazing. Your description pretty much describes the Highway 2 corridor. Great skiing above 5,000 ft but a heavy price must be paid between the highway and 5,000 ft and that...
Great picture. What mountain is shown in the background?
An amazing physical feat. My congrats to Sean!
Great trip! Early season on skis is the way to do Dark Peak. I recommend our route via Holden Pass and the Company Glacier for a more aesthetically pleasing approach and a better ski/boot...

Any chance you spotted a solitary skin lying around on the glacier or the snowfield between the glacier and the trail? I lost one a couple weeks ago.
Beautiful area. One of my favorite trips ever. We exited via White Pass and Indian Creek, which might add another day, but it has a trail and is free of slide alder and creek crossings.
I find spiritual bliss in free and unconstrained high-speed GS turns that respond to the seductive curves of glacially sculpted slopes. I could never find peace in the totalitarian confines of a...

We did it a few years ago and came out Indian Creek. Perhaps a bit more civilized than Lightning Creek/White River. One of my favorite trips ever.
Great tour. I was looking at the map and realized we actually went a quarter of the way around the mountain and back. I was also interested to see that the USGS map shows the Ingraham/Cowl...
Sweet! I miss the easy access, great skiing, and beautiful scenery. I should have stayed a few more weeks to catch the powder.
I've seen small cracks on the Russell, but not large enough to fall completely in, just large enough to grab your ski if you don't cross them at an angle. Pretty safe solo ski.
Looks like a great trip! I love those high traverses.
Huge effort in 3 days given the extra road miles. That last day must have been brutal. Congratulations!
Stefan, great photos, glad you could join us. Quite a nice day.
Super fun! I approve.

It's great seeing all those kids sharing your passion. What a great way to celebrate Father's Day.

Are you talking about the northeast facing slopes on the way to Pinapple Pass? Hard to imagine much sun hitting them. The northeast slopes slopes beneath the Tooth always make me nervous. Wind load...
I was the guy that came up the SE ridge. Nice meeting you guys at the top. The short runs into the north bowl were quite nice and snow stability was good. Skiing down from the...

I completed 2 backpack trips through the Glacier Peak area almost 30 years ago (yes, I was a child then). Although it was always one of my favorite settings I haven't been back since. ...
A few of us did Jolly on Sunday. The crust was everywhere. Very sucky. East of the crest is no better.
Ouch! That chute at the top looks a little bony compared with the last time we did it. Glad you had a good day.
As amazing trip. Thank you for sharing.
