Surprisingly good conditions, sunny weather, and low wind! Crusty snow from the roadhead to 4200', then increasingly fluffy to the summit. Some hard snow in the trees, chunks of soft snow pinwheels higher up. 2-6" powder atop increasingly dense snow.

Nice, Silas - good call. We were looking at Arrowhead Sunday afternoon from Heather Ridge. That is one beautiful pyramid. Looks like fabulous weather!
Well, you proved my assumptions wrong. I was consdidering a couple ideas somewhere in the vicintity, but opted out. Great day you had there.
I knew I needed the exercise, so forced myself to go, and was happily rewarded.
Hmm, 'opted out'? .... for a much burlier choice you might add. Congrats on your excellent tour in Johannesburg couloir.

Thanks, but I wouldn't have had to drive as far! I was actually consdering the other side of the white pine somewhere.
Luv the Arrowhead tour, especially the pillow skiing on the summit ridge.
Thanks for the report.
