Quotes from a day of wandering on the south side of Snoqualmie Mountain.  We practiced skiing on breakable crust, nice dust on hard base, and 5-6" of HEAVY mashed potatoes on top of chicken heads.

"I have no aspirations of accomplishing anything great today." Rusty Knees in the truck on the way up.
"Is this an uptrack or a down track?" Moscawulff - Yes, visibility was that good.
" We're climbing due North" - JPLingo - Oh, that's why it's so dang steep.
"Hey this is a great area, let's lap this" Rusty Knees thinks but doesn't vocalize.

"Hey, I think we found the slot couloir" Moscawulff, looking down a steep chute.
" We're looking straight north" JP
" So is this the Slot or not?" MW
" Not" JP

"This is too steep for me." RK says.
" I'm scared out of my snowpants." RK thinks but doesn't vocalize.
"Maybe we should head down from here." MW
Head nodding yes and shaking no at the same time - RK

"Does this chute go?" RK
"Kind of cliffy." MW
"I'm thinking of shooting it" JP
"I'm going to throw up" RK thinks but doesn't vocalize.

"Hmmm, we're not anywhere near where I thought we were." MW
"Is that an uptrack or a downtrack?" JP
"Down usually solves all my problems" RK

"This snow sucks." MW tele wunderkind.
"This snow sucks." RK tele geezer.
"WhooHOOO!!" JP shoots past on his split board.

"Hey, here's the snow Lake trail. Should we go down it?" RK
"No, I think we should go this way." MW
"I guess we haven't wandered around enough."  RK says to the trees. But no one hears.

"This is too flat for me." JP
"This is too flat for me." MW
"WhoHOOO" RK puts his skins back on.

And so we managed to explore the whole south side of Snoqualmie, link some turns, link some crashes, get a great cardio workout, wash our skins in the creek, pass a multitude of snow shoers, and drink two pitchers of Alpental 68 porter.  Beats working!
Hopefully there will be no skiing photos from this trip.  This trip report would be worthless WITH pictures.

The Alpental 68 is very nice. Perfect post-work out calorie replacement.

I recommend that we designate it as the official post-Phantom beer.

Great report...best I've heard in a while.

Great report...best I've heard in a while.

Yep.
Quit and entertaining read, RK.
Sounds like a lot of our trips.

Fun TR.  If it looked too too crazy to ski you guys were probably looking at the Not Slot/Snot.  You can tell the slot by the "bonsai" trees over by the entrance.

I haven't been up for little while, but it actually sounds like conditions are improving!

Great TR.  Photos would destroy the images I am envisioning.  We took our grandsons up to the Summit for their lessons in the fog and drizzle.   :'(

Way to put it all down.  I have a few more quote from RK

"Those little slips really get your heart pumping. "  RK
Right before my heart really started pumping on a big slip.

"This is my big air" RK while jumping into the creek.

Horrible conditions, great day.  Thanks RK and MW (Happy Birthday)

Thanks for the fun read Don.  That is one good way to compensate for the obvious lack of powder shots in recent TR'S.

Happy Birthday tele wunderkid!

Keep me in mind, I would like to get out with you guys again soon.

RK:  This has me looking forward to this Sunday...I think....

Thanks Joe...any interest in Jim Hill Mt. this weekend? If the snow starts flying, I'm ready to start calling in sick.

Wait a minute -- if the snow actually starts flying, doesn't that make it BETTER to be at your job?

Happy Birthday Brad!
