After spending a drenching weekend hiking the coast, I felt the need to go back where I belong, skiing pow. Partnerless with not much desire to tempt the avy gods I decided to hit up Hyak for some turns which were fabulous. A few other people, but no one lapping and/or skiing fresh lines. The majority of Hyak is skiied out. Watched a number of people overlook untouched lines in favor of skiing chop, which made me fill with joy as I had the goods all to myself for 6 laps. A good foot to 18 of new provided me with powder runs one after another all lookers right of the top station. Still in disbelief that no one else followed me after witnessing yours truly make powder 8s from my own tracks and harvest deep light pow all day. I like it. Excellent skiing today, except for getting dog crap on my skins following someones dog.........Looks like some good snow headed our way.  Good turns!!!!.........andy
Sounds like good fresh!
My wife had an identical skin issue in the Wallowas, and not only was the offending dog in our own party, but one of the teenage boys on the trip later said, "Oh yeah---I saw that but didn't tell anyone."  Freezing and scraping worked, by the way.
