Wow. You really don't have a clue.

It's not just the pineapple express that caused the problem, it's what has happened throughout the whole season, with the ice crusts, weak layers, huge dumps, and pineapple express piled on top of it. I challenge anyone to document a similar scenario in the past 30 years. Go ahead.

I trust that you'll be submitting your resume to manage avalanche control at Crystal, since you know so much more than they do.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have skied Crystal forever, this sequence of events hasn't happend quite like this, to this extreme extent before. Several days prior the large crowns on control work at the King was very uncharactaristic and an indictator of more to come.

a large natural was reported today just north of this location

What "large natural" are you referring to? Is it the Chair Peak slide that was reported here ? If so, then "just north of this location" is 40 miles.

I'm trying to control my irritation at your habit of posting stuff without enough information to evaluate it. Are you deliberately being cagey, or do you just not like to type?

I'm left unsure of the answer to Lowell's very good question (asked, I believe, in the spirit of learning and sharing information). To which avy were you referring?

NWAC today..my emphasis.

With the recent cooling trend, it has become unlikely that deep wet slab avalanches could be human or naturally triggered without an extremely large load (i.e. explosives or serac fall seen at MRNP last week). Wet slabs could again become an avalanche concern during extended stretches of rain and/or warm temperatures and are not necessarily tied to the period of heaviest rain or warmest temperatures.

Avy is reported later in the ''great scott'' thread. Typing on a phone is new to me. One slip up and all the post is lost and needs to be re-typed.

Right. That's the thread I referred to (I linked to the specific post) when I asked the question.

So, you're typing on a phone? That helps explain your cryptic posts.

A heads-up....  If your posts are too cryptic, and don't contain enough information to explain where you're coming from, people are likely to think you're being cagey or playing games with us. That could help explain why you've been getting some resistance on TAY with your postings.

Just trying to be helpful...
