but didn't that ship sail when you get on the first chair?

Yes and no. You can lap the throne all day getting freshies, because its a 5 minute hike. While PB is done in one lap because you get to it right off the chair. It won't keep everyone out, but will help

With all this talk about blame, IMO one of the big contributing factors to this slide was the fact that campbell basin really hadn't been skier compacted like in previous years (numerous weather holds, chair running at half speed when running at all).

... and if you want to believe in skier compaction as a risk management tool, well... perhaps the leprechauns will be nice to you on St. Paddy's day...

Not to say that the chairlift destruction was done on purpose, but the insurance check for that accident will go a long way in improving cashflow for the replacement lift.

That avy took out a 75 year old fir tree that is one of my favorite "pee" trees.
It was a just a sapling when ddk first put on his fanny pack.

Nobody is worried about the trees that were wantonly destroyed...where's freeskiguy when you need him?

Seems like the only logical conclusion is your "deposits" rendered this tree susceptible to breakage in an avalanche. Poor tree, too much pee. I like you and therefor forgive you Chris.
