What happened with this "controlled slide" makes my gaffs at work seem pretty manageable by comparison. Uh, boss, we've got a little situation to report...

I find it very interesting that this face was skied so many times on March 7th . Does anyone know how much rain the Throne received between March 7th (Friday) and March 9th (Sunday)? Here is a view of the crown and the extent of the propagation…

Great post from Kim Kircher on "What does it feel like to demolish a chairlift".   Includes video taken at the time of the slide and as observers start to realise its taken out the chairlift.

I'd guess the one that was the least thrilled seeing a slide so big it took out the bottom of the lift and who also has the better inkling of what it will cost to repair or replace it (and who also happens to be the only one not smiling in the photo  ::))
