While I don't doubt this is true. In my case it isn't the whole answer. After the trouble posting at TAY, I next tried to access my e-mail at Google:
1) I had signed out, although always stay signed in was checked (and showed as checked).
2) When I tried to sign-in the sign in page came up with my e-mail and asked for my password.
3) When I typed my password (no mistake here) my password was rejected 3 times. "invalid password"
4) After the 4th try it let me in.
5) I knew someone was messing with my e-mail so I tried to copy all important e-mails that were in my inbox.
6) I was able to copy most but on one with a train of 16 e-mails it would not open the hidden e-mails with the red letter message: "Some of the functions (may have been a different word) are not available.
7) A half hour later Google let me back in and allowed me to copy that particular e-mail
8 ) I looked up Apple support and found an online service at "Yogi"
9) I tried to create an account at "Yogi"
10)"Yogi" accepted my name and password but at the final step I had to enter 4+=8 to show I was a "human". It let me type 4, but when I tried to type the rest nothing happened - the cursor didn't move as if the keyboard was dead.
So, I have plenty of reasons to think my computer was hacked regardless of software glitches at TAY. I also found in "Recently opened" two files with a combination of about fifty capitals and numbers. Obviously, this had nothing to do with my actions but was put into my computer. I am sure these files were computer code. I believe I allowed the entry by responding to an "Adobe Flash Update". I am sure this was a clone.
Be careful out there.

Clearing your cookies for the site will fix that problem. I don't know exaclty what's wrong, but the value of the cookie the site stores in your browser's cookie jar when you log-in doesn't match with what the site expects when you return.
Here are instructions on how to do that for Chrome , Firefox , Internet Explorer and Safari ( OS X Mountain Lion (6), OS X Mavericks (7))

By the way, back to the original post. A number of stations in the North Cascades have had 24-27" of rain in the period October 12th to November 3rd. Buckinghorse (which is not the wettest site in the Olympics) had 27" as well. Humptulips and Jefferson Creek in the Olympics appear to have had 43-44" of rain since October 1 (which is apparently the start of the rainy season when accumulated precipitation is reset.)
All of these totals would be close to annual precipitation totals for a good number of western ski areas. Alas there is hardly any snow below 7000' as it nearly all fell as rain.
