I suspect that the claim to the largest vertical in the US includes the Palmer Snowfield which I don't think they ever run at the same time as the rest of the area they now operate.  Seriously doubt that Snowbowl and the Palmer will be running at the same time.  Don't you just love truth in advertising!

When the weather's good, they offer ticket/pass-holding guests snowcat rides to the top terminal of Palmer in the winter. Not exactly 100% lift-served, but I suppose since chairlifts are involved along the way, they can claim it?

I grew up skiing Timberline and live 10 minutes from Government Camp on the west flank of hood.  Every spring there's a two week to thirty day window in April (sometimes late March) when TLine's in full operation, top to bottom - and while SkiBowl's still open too.

I've skied from top of (operating) Palmer down Glade Trail into govy several times.

It's very possible, and I support the tram , 110%.  Build it, today.

Cheers.

On edit:  I have no business interest...work in the valley - unfortunately.

I'm all for it. Would love a tram to the top of Mt. Snoqualmie myself. The old *planned lifts* map in the hallway between the old and new Alpental lodges, if only, that would have been some killer lift served terrain.

My first season pass was at Ski Bowl. My dad and I skied Timberline to Govy when I was 14. This tram sounds like killer fun to me. If Timberline sold a "one ride" style ticket it would be great to drive to Timberline, take the lifts up Palmer, hit the summit, ski an almost 8,000 ft run to Govy, then ride the tram to the lodge.
