Your Random Piece of Gear was created by EbenezerSteezer
Hey all I wanted to get a thread going featuring everyone's random article of gear they bring along on a tour. It could be something useful or useless, sentimental or comical.
Feel free to post a few (but lets not get the entirety of your backpack)

Mine is a Road Flare.

A big lightweight coated stuffsack (50 gal plastic garbage bag is good alternative). Big enough to put pack, plus feet in boot liners into for forced bivy. Also good for stashing un-needed weight when yo-yoing close by.

poly-pro balaclava, extremely light and the size of a golfball. Never used, so far never had to do that forced bivy.

Firestarter, see forced bivy above

50 gal plastic garbage bag

Just had a conversation about carrying a garbage bag this week...I carry one for unforeseen overnighters too. Light and waterproof :)
