Self esteem issues? was created by Fall City Brian
I pull into West, with intentions of the west flank of Kendall Peak. After passing the Commonwealth log, I continue pass the cliff band. Shortly, the track stops. I've never put in the up track to the Kendall bowl, and it hits me; I'm in charge. I will lay the track to the top and all will follow. I proceed with exuberance, and then realize; how will this track be judged? I have followed up tracks that are nothing short of poetry, and I've followed them to destinations that I've never wanted to go.. Having and hour to kill, with no-one to speak with but my dog Summit, my mind wanders, as does the up-track. Will it be viewed as a work of Van Gough, or Monet? Or, will it be viewed as my 4th grade art project, where we were instructed to draw a barn yard animal and upon completion, the teacher asks "is this some kind of joke?" Half way up I ask Summit; "what do you think?" I get look of disdain at my slow pace. Oh to have four wheel/paw drive.. Through my semi-hypoxic state, the bowl come into view. A quick transition and a few laps later, I descend through the trees. The hoards are coming up. One asks; "did you put in this track?" I sheepishly nod. He says "it's steep". Is that good o bad? I ski on, and then I ask myself; is it permissable to ski across the skin track if you put it in? Self esteem issues? And lower still, after passing a group of cigaret smoking snowshoers I ask my self; "will they trample 'MY' track? I guess some questions should just not be asked.

The best you can hope for any skin track is that it's buried by new snow soon. And that your dog approves.

That is not a question, just a poorly written declarative statement; I'l fix it for you: And lower still, after passing a group of cigaret smoking snowshoers I say to my self; "they will trample 'MY' track." The only question is, will they say "What a nice track put in by such a nice guy" or "We hope this leads somewhere good."

I thought this was going to be about the snowboarder responses in the "culture war" thread.
