There was a good footlog with handrail over the river at Cougar Rock a couple weeks ago.  Amazingly, it might be the same one in the photo in the 2008 Wahpenayo TR.  I think it's been re-positioned a couple times since then.  Even in years when the constructed crossing has been washed out, there are often passable drift logs nearby.

The road crew used to use a bulldozer to drag a vehicle Bailey bridge in and out each summer back in the seventies, when the closed powerhouse was still used for seasonal housing.

Looking more closely at the map, the old hydro intake dam is below the Tatoosh Creek confluence at about 3700'.  It might be hard to find from the south bank.

The last bit of trail above the powerhouse road-end was a frozen snowshoe trench a couple weeks ago.  Watch out for a usually snowless  waterbar at a small drainage.  Also take care at the 'catwalk' small bridges traversing the steep slopes of obscure avy paths from Ricksecker Point.

Ron, I suspect the intake dam materials arrived by mule train rather than Model T...

Yeah, a trail bridge. Like the one in the last pic in boot's TR that Gary linked above.
Let us know how the trip went when you return.

Not sure if we are going but will, most definitely, write a TR.
