Would you be willing to use them if the boot/binding life span was shorter than current options? Just wondering where the line is...

A long time ago in a land far away there was an incredibly lightweight, exquisitely simple telemark binding. It was known as the 3-pin.

I know right? I've been thinking about how exquisite that binding is. What I like about this though is that it provides free pivot touring in the world of plastic boots and will hold the boot down so there is better flex and a more active rebound.
I still think there is a better binding out there that will secure the boot down from under foot. That probably means a new boot sole design, like the NTN had to come up with.
I think such light weight bindings will breathe new life into the tele world! Like the kraken rising from the depths of the sea.
Release the Kraken!
Sounds like a good binding name.

For those that turn both ways, it looks like you could use a tech heel and have a combo AT/tele binding.
I'm just saying...

And no more poodling in the lift line!!
Appears impressive, but does not look reliably releasable (?) Agree with observation of durability issue at wing/boot interface - perhaps we can expect more boot in-molded fittings. There was a similar design years ago - it was called the bear-trap - lacked the free pivot, but the front section of the boot sole was clamped in place via the top edge of the sole, and a cable was used to hold the boot forward in the 'trap' - now, the tech fitting handles that. Skied bear-traps as a kid. Now I want this one ~ to complete the circle..
How much upward force is there, really, on those wings? I'm thinking not so much.

Good point on releasability. I wonder. Still, the weight savings is amazing. I wonder if anyone is thinking/working on lighter tele boots.
