New Telemark Binding on the Horizon was created by danpeck
All Ye Tele skiers: Check this out!
I'm hoping this thing makes it across the ocean soon. I can't believe this idea wasn't thought of sooner. Drop the cables! Boots have enough flex and activity in them. All we need to do is use a tech toe fitting and then have a way to lock in the boot just in front of the bellows and we have a powerful tele turn and light weight touring machine.
Tele is not dead!

Yea, I wonder how well the side bars hold down the boot under force.
I think it would work even better if there were an attachment under the boot that clipped into the boot sole, much like the NTN, or a mtn bike cleat, that could be engaged and disengaged by pressing a button with your pole, would potentially give more stability.
I really like the idea of losing the cables. Kind of a throw back to the 3 pin days, but adding a better free pivot and improving the flex point.

Seriously, Mike. Cool idea, hopefully it works. Going to be an awful lot of upward force on those metal wings.

Not to mention the small surface area on the plastic boot interfacing with the wings. If they work I'll try them.
