"9 1/2 Weeks" would have been so much hotter with a safe sex lecture halfway through.

The problem is, a lot of the pro skiers don't make the calls. Its the guides that do. They sit in the heli, pic out lines, and the guides say yay or nay. Obviously there are plenty that are educated and make there own calls as well. But there are a great deal of park rats that are parts of big film crews that get the opportunity for a heli trip and know squat about the BC.

I would personally like to see some of the decision making but it could backfire if that's the only avalanche education some people get.

Nah nothing regulated but adding a decision huddle in a zone they show them skiing in next would add to the tension of the scene.Good luck...
... unless if the filming of such footage can be conditioned by its being filmed on federal lands and subject to specified condition$.

I think the lack of any sort of context or background information is the worst part of modern ski porn. Most viewers have no idea what they're watching.
But I don't expect anything to change. It's entertainment, not journalism (for better or worse).

That's a good one Andy!
Good thought Edge and hard to say anything that has not been said already, but movies are a creative issue in good, bad or just plain stupid ones.
Other than the classic Scot Schmidt pole whacking to test the top of the slopes, it would be interesting to hear in retrospect when they interview a skier on what judgments they had going into a particular run. More as a relaxed conversation.
As great as the skiers are managing some of the lines, I just get bored watching the extreme films (especially the brain dead skier interviews) and tend to get more interested with the artful films like Signatures. But to each their own...
