Skip the resort ski that tours. You already have the dynafit touring setup. Go fully alpine and don't waste extra coin on dukes and skins that would only get used a couple of times per season. Your dollar will stretch further if you can wait for late season ski sales at REI. To throw out a random ski recommendation is pretty stupid, but how about the volkl bridge. Also, start watching craigslist and get a used setup and boots. Save that REI dividend until July and get cash back.

Exactly, then spend it at a locally owned, independent ski shop. REI will sell enough yoga pants to cover the loss.

In that case I would echo what khyak said and recommend going for a full alpine setup and getting something like a Salomon Quest that is still decently comfortable to hike in and just bootpacking any sidecountry excursions. It's tough to beat the release characteristics of a Look/Rossi binding. FYI I have a pair of 1 year old Rossi Axial2 140's with 120mm brakes that I would make you a good deal on, I'm pulling them off my Amperages this season to put some Plums on instead so I can enjoy these skis deeper into the backcountry. Also, take my ski recommendations with a grain of salt, as I have rarely been impressed with K2 skis and usually prefer skis that like to be skied more aggressively. (not to say that K2 skis can't be skied aggressively, their designs just haven't matched what I have been looking for in my skis lately). One of my old coworkers tele's some Sidestashes and loves them, but his entire quiver basically just looks like a K2 catalog :D
