WA State Department of Transportation has closed 542 due to tree fall. Baker won't open today.

The Bellingham Herald just put up an article that says the road will be closed into the weekend...

542 likely to be closed into the weekend

And the ski area is confirming, closed Friday but more optimistic than the Herald re Sat

The hardworking DOT crew is anticipating being able to clear the road Friday which would allow the ski area to open on Saturday depending on how progress goes tomorrow.

We will be updating this report in the morning and again in the afternoon on Friday to keep you posted on tomorrow's progress on the road.

:'( this screws all my end of the world powder plans. Anyone have any other suggestions near sedro woolley? Was thinking of riding in the trees near sauk mountain but could be a really long skin with the low snow levels. ???
