According to the DOT the problem was more along the lines of "If a tree falls during a wind storm and nobody hears it will it still kill a road worker if it lands on their head?" I don't blame them for staying out of the area on Wednesday and Thursday while the storm died down.

Over on US 2 a tree fall near White Pine, killed two outright and send four more to the hospital -- no merry xmas for that family.

Steven's is already warning of limited operations due to the obvious staffing shortage. Mt. Baker Ski Area has said nothing about the impact the current 542 closure may have tomorrow and beyond.
