You only get the title "Powder Technician" after spending years laboring first as a n00b and then a Grom. And you only get the big sticks after your induction to the Order Of The Bro. That ceremony takes place in Lot 4.
This information is incorrect, to a point. One starting out is always a Noob, but one can only be a Grom if they are under say 15 yro. Noob's will progress to GAPER status at some point, referred to equally by both the gap between goggles and hat/helmet, and also the ever so stable body positioning of an overly wide stance without bent knees and the "hands down, ass up" posturing. This class of Gaper, when spotted on the hill, should be considered highly dangerous and not approached due to their unpredictable nature.
"Powder Technician" is a self-bestowed title by those with a belief that the width of their skis actually improves their skiing ability, instead of improving their overall skiing enjoyment. The "Order Of The Bro" is obtained after years of skiing development and after what is generally referred to the "THE Enlightenment" and can only be given out by fellow members of the order, generally known as the "Bros and Brahs". But yes, the ceremony does take place in lot 4.

The Enlightment results in a rejection of Gape-think and G.S.A. worship. This is when Bros and Brahs tend to first notice that an individual may be a candidate for induction in the Order. Once in the Order, Bros tend to reflect on the GSA as a fond myth much like Santa Claus, and as such celebrate the GSA on an annual basis.
I also forgot to mention Retirement. This happens when an elder statesman of the Order decides it's time to Move On....specifically down to Lot 3.
Some say there are even higher Orders down there, but it's generally not talked about because old people are considered lame by the Bros and Brahs.
