I should also mention that he suggested I mount a 10mm plate under the toe piece of my Dynafit TLT bindings so as to not be tilted too far over the balls of my feet - something apparently inherent with Dynafits. Has anyone done this or heard similar? I'm just now making the switch from tele to AT and haven't skied the Dynafits yet.
Thanks!

Hmmm. I would be very interested to hear the response to this question. I put my wife in Dynafits last year and she had lots of discomfort under the balls of her feet. I thought it was a boot issue and we have since seen Martin at Crystal to help a bit. He seemed to think the problem was in her liner. So of course we bought nice intuition liners and super feet foot beds. We skied a bit, but not enough to know yet. I tele, so I don't know how a dynafit binding feels. My wife's boots are the BD swifts.
But if there is something about the dynafit binding putting pressure on the balls of the feet, that would be a revelation for us.
gracel: sorry to see you move away from the tele world

Lots of people do this, raising the toe to lessen the ramp on tech bindings. You can make your own shims from cutting board stock, buy them already made from B & D Ski Gear, or add the Dynafit base plates if you have a Speed Radical or Speed/Classic binding. You might want to ski on the setup first - some people are super sensitive to the additional ramp angle, while others barely notice it.

Greg - thanks for the info! And I will most certainly try them out first before making the mod. I was also told Andy at ProSki could make them?
