Anyone reviews?  My BD Traverse pole snapped at the basket so need a replacement and wondering if the carbon has held up to anyone's punishment.

Mine have held up fine, despite a few nicks and scratches from sharp edges. I have maybe 45 days on them, inbounds and BC.

My BD Traverse pole snapped at the basket so need a replacement . . .

Need replacement?? maybe not. One of the best things about BD poles (along with the excellent Flicklock mechanism) is the easy availability of inexpensive spare parts, especially lower shafts which are the most commonly broken part. Looks like $13 + a few $ shipping will solve your problem:

Marmot in Bellevue (and perhaps other local shops too) often carry some spare BD lower shafts, maybe it's worth calling to check.

Unless you absolutely need self-arrest grips (I had Life-link, now BD whippets) I would really suggest you try the Dynafit 7-summit poles; I bought a pair for my wife with her new AT outfit for her b'day and liked them so much I went out and found a pair for me! Titanal tops, soft ergonomic grips suitable for varying hand positions, carbon/graphite lowers with a neat locking/sliding mechanism and detents; a tip stiff enough to turn the heel lifts on comforts and verticals, and very light weight.

I was told by my ski shop that wrapping the lower end of a carbon pole with duct tape would help this problem by absorbing the energy and deflecting it form the pole it self. Don't know if it is just bull or not but I have yet to have a problem.

yeah but it significantly adds to swing weight which is the nice thing about carbon poles
