I've had both versions of the Razor, the original (I think made by Gipron) and the newer red one. They've been stellar. But yeah, just buy a lower Traverse shaft and fix your current poles - for that price, buy two shafts and have a spare ready to go.

I've had these for quite a few years now. I got them after breaking my traverses. I'm extremely tough on equipment, and haven't had any problems. They seem tougher than standard aluminum poles.

Very interesting... Not sure about those baskets in Cascade snow.... I would think the cone shape would get packed with our type snow.
