I really haven't had to store it wet (only had it a year, and was able to dry it out on clear days). Right now I have it up, with a tarp over it. I've gotten just a touch of mildew on the inside after storing it most of the winter (Thanksgiving to April).

Anyone ever do much travelling in a rig such as this?
maine.craigslist.org/rvs/3159612885.html
Seems like a nice rig at a price of 11-12k - but pretty heavy at 4k plus wet and loaded. Just wondering how such a rig would be on the road. Thinking a 3500 dually would be in order...

That's a huge camper., bet it weighs 5K+ easy.
We run a Lance 1030 - 10'9" non-slide hardside on a single rear wheel ford superduty diesel. It can gross out over 11K without a trailer.
The truck has been modified with aftermarket rear leaf spring packs, airbags, 19.5" commercial wheels & tires, etc. We've run it alot in snowand ice. It handles great loaded. It's harsh empty.
Be really sure you know your vehicle's capacities, not so much the gross vehicle weight, but the individual components - brakes, axles, wheels, etc. It turns out the vehicle gross can be limited by a single component, or a regulation consideration such as licensing or manufacturing volumes.
Watch older wood units for any sign of water leakage. They're made of pine and press-board. We've owned ours since it was 2 years old, and it's taken some water, but i know when, where, and how much/bad. An unknown issue can quickly kill your investment value.
Feel free to PM with ?'s.
Have fun, Be safe.

After searching high and low for a month, and losing out on a few really nice units....I snagged a 96 bigfoot camper. Shocked that I found one in NY since it seemed the PNW had a monopoly on them. 4k seemed like too good to pass up and although it has no ac or gen set, it was 4-5 grand cheaper than any other similar one. Only bummer is a non basement model. Time for truck shopping...
