Well done Oyvind and team. All the SAR people have my admiration but it is the volunteers than stand out in my mind. Donating so much time for training and the rescues is truly admirable.

Just to be pedantic,  If you're lowered from above aren't you on toprope, not lead?   ;)
I read the Seattle Times article; sounded like a real-life version of the Clint Eastwood stunt scene in The Eiger Sanction, only not done for the camera, but for a fellow human.

that's cute Mac, up or down, in a rescue, you are on lead, the second rope is the belay...
