My first summer ski adventures were at the Gravel pit above the Home depot. I would ski down the hill to work at Henry Bacon. I'm pretty sure there are still some skis stashed in the woods nearby. Have at it

Alpental
is just 40 minutes up I-90 from Issaquah. Last year they ran into the first weekend of May and with all the snow we've been getting lately and the fact that they tend to sell a lot of beer when they manage to be open on May 5th (a Saturday this year) I suspect (and hope) Alpental will spin their lifts until at least May 6th this year.

I went to Alpental a few weeks back when I was visiting, pretty cool place. Not sure if I like it or Crystal better to be honest.
I do want to take some avy classes for sure when I get up there just to have the safety of it and some BC Basic's classes too. Also finding people smarter than me seems to be a really good key in getting better and learning.
So, if any of you guys want to help a noob out any after I get settled in shoot me a PM! If not i'll hunt you down and 'tag along'

On the biking side, Soaring Eagle and Tolt-McDonald are great options for more varied singletrack to get a workout on. Tiger is a climb-then-descend style ride. Duthie is good for hanging out and skillbuilding, a lot of shorter loops and jump lines that all converge back in the same place.
