Feb 8th 2012 ZAP's rehab

Lately I've been hearing lots of stories of folks that got all faculties back within a year, both physical and mental, within a year.

Zap - with your drive I'm suspecting you've already experienced huge improvements.
Just give the nod and I'll come up and give you a blow by blow, first person, front center, accounting on what it feels like to watch a brain rewire itself and give you some tips on how to facilitate the process

Zap - just got back from a trip to Californiyay and saw the news here. Get well soon! The world needs as many cheerful folks like you as possible!

Zap couldn’t stand it any longer.  He had to get up on the snow.  Last Friday we went up and walked on the flat area behind the lodges at Summit West – for all of 30 minutes before his right leg became totally fatigued.  Then on Sunday we went back up and walked around the same area on our backcountry skis with skins for about 45 minutes.  He was so excited to be back out on the snow, it was really hard keeping him from trying to climb a bit and actually ski or at least glide on skins back down!  But that has to wait until he has built up lots more strength and endurance in both his right leg and right arm, and until he has a ski helmet!  He’s still working with a speech therapist who’s helping him to say the correct words that connect with what he’s thinking, but he still has a long way to go.  Some conversations are right on target, others are a bit jumbled!
