I wish the picture was a little clearer.
What can happen with metal layer is the mounting screws can thread bind and can actually force layers apart. Screws can also bind in binding holes. Proper drill size ,Proper hole clearance and taping are critical moreso in metal layers. Just saying it outloud to remind my self when I mount mine.
Thanks for posting your issue.

OK, I should have said "has little to do with it."
Seatown, it's possible that the design of the Dynafit toes (pin & socket) and smaller footprint deliver more torquing leverage to the topsheet, but a full-scale delam like that from toe to heel indicates some sort of major materials failure.
Valid and accurate point, I didn't look closely enough at the blurry pic to see just how far the delam propagated.
Good point here as well. If they were mounted w/ a 3.5mm bit and not tapped i could see how the mount could have stressed the integrity of the skis sandwich construction and made them more likely to fail. What can happen with metal layer is the mounting screws can thread bind and can actually force layers apart. But as GregL mentions, skis still shouldn't fail like this. K2 should take care of you (again) but it would beneficial to hear back from you on how they were mounted so we can catalog it for future reference.
Another ski to check out would be the Movement Trust (141 / 108 / 129 mm) tip rockered but full tailed ski.
