skin glue on ski base was created by davidG
So, the new skis arrived and I thought I'd check to see how my existing skins fit. A bit narrow, but they might do.. Seems the test left a couple of skin glue goobers on the ski base, and while I recall a discussion or two on the topic of getting that stuff off, I was too lazy to check. And after all, fingernail polish removes everything else, non? Well, that left the goobers about half the height and three times the area, but no fear, 'cause I know rubbing alcohol always takes whatever the acetone misses. So.., the sticky area has now redoubled.
Do I need to go out and get some of that citrus cleaner I recall hearing about? Is it time to trade the skis?
sigh..

Give them a quick, thick layer of hot wax and then scrape it immediately -- that does a pretty good job.

The citrus is cheap and much easier and faster than waxing and scraping

If you wax and scrape you have just enough time for a beer.
