Last time I was in Vancouver, almost all of (the hundreds of) Arc'teryx wearers were middle aged upper middle class Asian shopper women. There's thousands of counterfeit Arc-Teryx jackets out there. I'm not kidding.
I'm not sure which label will replace Arc'teryx as the #1 poser garment. Maybe Westcomb or Stoic.
AFAIK, Arc'teryx makes high quality stuff. So does Patagucci. That a logo achieves poser status doesn't mean it's poor quality.
Anyway, I usually rip off or black out my labels. See No Logo by Naomi Klein

Ah, I've successfully offended the sensibilities of some poser gear owners.
Am I the only guy on TAY to have noticed that around 10 years ago Arc'teryx replaced Patagucci as the #1 poser outdoor garment?

That book crystallizes and articulates many of the gut-level reactions I've had to "logoism" and other manifestations of corporatism. There is a guy that was part of the "Swoosh" marketing at Nike that is now speaking out about the exploitation of college athletes. Very interesting...
