Don't know what a "TLT 5 P" boot is...but from the context it sounds expensive. 

Outerwear is kind of interchangeable, althought breathable fabric does make a big comfort difference to me.  You're talking to a guy that still uses the same North Face jacket that I got from warranty back in '97.  I let my employers spend the bucks on the pricey uniforms w/ all the techy fabrics and features.

Just googled it (TLT 5)...nope wouldn't pay a grand for a ski boot either. I'm still on '96 Scarpa Denalis and '00 Garmont Ener-G's...find something that fits and stick with it! When I bought those boots though, it sure felt like I paid a grand

Yeah, but I've been posing in their shit for a long time, and the coat I got in '99 is still going strong . . .

What did you pay for it back then? Were they shooting for the high dollar market back in '99, or was it pretty reasonable?
